Diego Ferreira floors Ramsey Nijem with second-round knockout

Undefeated Brazilian prospect Diego Ferreira put on a striking clinic as he countered Ramsey Nijem at every turn before putting the fight away early in the second round.
Known best as a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu specialist who won his first fight by submission, Ferreira looked very comfortable on his feet as he dealt with a very aggressive attack from Nijem, who was trying to land a big combination but just couldn't find his range.
Meanwhile, Ferreira was faster in every exchange and dropped Nijem once in the first round and again in the second before the finish finally happened. As Nijem pressed forward, Ferreira countered with a perfect right hook that clipped and slammed into his opponent's jaw as he fell to the mat.
Ferreira followed up with a few more strikes on the ground to get the stoppage victory.
An emotional Nijem left the cage obviously saddened by what just transpired while Ferreira celebrated his first TKO win in the UFC. With a 2-0 record thus far in his UFC career, Ferreira seems like a very bright star to keep an eye on in the lightweight division.
With a dangerous submission arsenal and knockout power in his hands, Ferreira looks like the real deal at 155 pounds.
