Costas Philippou, Lorenz Larkin verbally agree to fight in Cincinnati

The UFC's Cincinnati card just added an intriguing stand-up war.
Middleweight stalwarts Costas Philippou and Lorenz Larkin have verbally agreed to fight at UFC Fight Night on May 10 at U.S. Bank Arena, the UFC announced Sunday.
Philippou (12-4), ranked No. 10 among middleweight contenders, is coming off a first-round knockout loss to Luke Rockhold in January at UFC Fight Night in Duluth, Ga. It was his second straight loss after stringing together five straight wins. The 34-year-old will be looking to get back on track in Cincinnati.

Lorenz Larkin (right) will look to creep into the middleweight top 10 against Costas Philippou.
Larkin (14-2, 1 NC) lost on the same card as Philippou, to Brad Tavares in a close decision. The Strikeforce alum has been defeated in two of his last three fights, but, at age 27, is still regarded as a prospect. Larkin has been finished just once in his career, but that loss, to Muhammed Lawal, was turned into a no contest when Lawal failed a drug test.
UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati doesn't have a headliner yet, but it boasts a few interesting fights so far, like Erik Koch vs. Daron Cruickshank and Eddie Wineland vs. Johnny Eduardo. The event will air on FOX Sports 1.
