Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz engage in final face-off ahead of UFC 196

Following Thursday's near brawl at the UFC 196 pre-fight press conference, Dana White was ready to keep them apart when Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz stepped off the scale at the official weigh-ins.

White's best efforts still were almost not enough as McGregor stepped into the face-off after hitting the scale at 168 pounds and Diaz made a move like he was about to lunge at the featherweight champion.

White immediately got between them and security began pulling McGregor and Diaz apart before things got ugly.

Of course, Diaz had no problem giving McGregor the one-finger salute from across the cage as he continued to shout at him while the pro-Irish crowd just got louder and louder.

"I'm here to kill or be killed. (Expletive) this little (expletive). (Expletive) you!" Diaz shouted at McGregor.

McGregor actually swiped at Diaz on Thursday, which started the entire melee that nearly erupted into a full-on brawl inside the MGM Grand, but the Irish superstar didn't do anything of the sort on Friday.

Instead, McGregor came out looking healthy and happy without a weight cut to drain his body and he hit the mark with a big smile on his face.

That didn't last long once Diaz made a motion toward him at the face-off, and McGregor quickly came back at him as security quickly intervened to tear them apart.

"I was just giggling at his little soft body," McGregor said after the weigh-in. "How can a fat guy be so skinny at the same time? It amuses me.

"I'm looking forward to going in there, putting the martial arts back into the game. Weight should never be an issue. Champions should be able to go up and down and fight any challenge that comes before them so I'm looking to go in there tomorrow night fresh and put on a show for the fans."

At this point the talking is officially over and now McGregor finally will face Diaz in the Octagon on Saturday night.
