Cody Garbrandt says he's been dreaming of knocking out Dominick Cruz since he was 16

Cody Garbrandt is currently the hottest UFC bantamweight not named Dominick Cruz but according to the rising 135-pounder, he'll have the top spot in no time.
In fact, Garbrandt has been dreaming of knocking Cruz out since he was a teenager.
"Like I've said before, I've visualized knocking that dude out since I was 16," Garbrandt said following UFC 199 in Los Angeles. "When he was in the WEC, that's a guy that I knew I was going to lock horns with and now it's surreal it's almost about to happen, so I've been getting ready for him mentally. Now, it's just putting the physical camp in and getting the call."
Garbrandt entered his headlining bout two weeks ago in Vegas unranked. But after an impressive blistering knockout of previously undefeated bantamweight Thomas Almeida, Garbrandt jumped all the way up to seventh in the 135-pound rankings.
He now stands potentially just one more win away from his dream of facing current champion Cruz. And the Team Alpha Male product is confident that whenever that fight happens, he'll take care of business.
"He's a great fighter, but my style, I'll knock him out 10 times out of 10," Garbrandt said. "He's trying to make a fight between me and Faber because he knows I would knock him out. I'm already in the champ's head."
