Over the course of his Hall of Fame MMA career, Chuck Liddell had his share of run-ins with trash-talking opponents, including rival Tito Ortiz. The former light heavyweight champion never took kindly to their flapping of gums, however, and usually got the final word, with his fists.

That said, "The Iceman" can't help but be a fan of the game's current smack-talk king, Conor McGregor. "I'm not big with the trash-talking," he recently told MMA Junkie Radio.

"But I do like Conor because he comes out and fights the way he talks."

A case in point for Liddell was the aggressive way McGregor fought Chad Mendes, from the start during their UFC 189 interim title fight in July. "He came out right across the ring and started swinging," he recounted.

"He wasn't trying to dance around or not get taken down. He just came out swinging."

Count Liddell as excited for Dec. 12's scheduled fight between "Notorious" and champion Jose Aldo. "I'm actually really looking forward to that Aldo fight," he ended.

Though Liddell has always been known as a bit of a public Silent Sam, he and McGregor share an aggressive fighting spirit. That's something anyone can get behind.
