Anthony Pettis has broke his silence on the recent arson attack at his home in Milwaukee
Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has a lot to say about the recent arson attack at his Milwaukee home that resulted in three vehicles engulfed in flames.
A video of the aftermath of the incident was captured by a neighbor and was shown during a report on from local Milwaukee television station Fox 6 Now.
“I am a fighter. I won’t be defeated by this,” wrote Pettis. “I am also extremely confused and saddened by the events that occurred. I am grateful that no one was harmed by this cowardly act. My life as well as my loved ones were put in danger. I cannot understand why someone would want to hurt myself or my family.
“I will do everything I can to ensure that we find out who committed this crime and that they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I’m constantly defending my choice to stay in this city. Regardless of the crimes that have been occurring lately, this is my home. I really hope the city that I rep has my back on this one and helps by reporting anything they know about this.”

In terms of competition, Pettis (19-4), also a former WEC champ, is slated to face Max Holloway in the co-main event of UFC 206 in December. In hist most recent contest, fans saw him walk away with a third round submission win in his featherweight debut over jiu-jitsu specialist Charles Oliveira. This victory got ‘Showtime’ back into the win column three straight decision losses to former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos, current champ Eddie Alvarez and the surging Edson Barbzoa.
As a result of this string of setbacks, thee Roufusport product made the decision to drop down to 145-pounds in hopes of rejuvenating his fight career.
