Almeida batters Jabouin with first round TKO at UFC 186

Bantamweights Yves Jabouin and Thomas Almeida started their UFC 186 main card bout smart and cautious, striking and feinting conservatively. With under two minutes left, however, the Brazilian Almeida began to find his spots against Jabouin and connect with hard strikes.
Almeida backed Jabouin up against the cage with strikes, clearly hurting the Haitian fighter. Almeida smelled blood and poured on the strikes as Jabouin doubled over and covered up, unable to get his own offense going.
Jabouin refused to give up but, not able to defend himself or return fire, the referee was forced to step in and call a stop to the action in order to protect him. The end came at 4:18 of the very first round.
Post-fight, the Chute Boxe fighter said he had prepared well for the fight. "I fight very hard," he went on.
"I'm very happy...I'm so happy to have finished the fight."
The win improves Almeida's record to 19-0, as he stays undefeated and rises up a notch on the bantamweight contender ladder. Jabouin's record dips to 20-10, overall.
