Wozniacki beats Dulko at Australian Open

Top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki, playing her first Grand Slam with the No. 1 ranking, has advanced to the second round of the Australian Open with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Gisela Dulko of Argentina.

Wozniacki, who was the No. 1 seed at last year's U.S. Open because then top-ranked Serena Williams did not play due to a foot injury, broke Dulko's serve in the ninth game of the second set and then served out the match Monday.

The 20-year-old Danish player won six tournaments in 2010, including four of her last six. She took over the No. 1 ranking last October, and will retain that spot if she can advance at least to the semifinals here.
