Two-time major champion Amelie Mauresmo has announced that she is expecting her first child this summer.

Mauresmo, who won both the Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2006, was No. 1 for 39 weeks in her career, becoming the first Frenchwoman to reach the top of the computer rankings since they were introduced in the 1970s.

Mauresmo, who announced she was gay back in 1999, is now coaching the third-ranked Andy Murray. She is also the captain of the French Fed Cup team.

''Baby will be here in August! Pregnant. So happy,'' she said via Twitter.

It's unclear whether Mauresmo will be forced to reassess her working schedule with Murray, who is testing out retired Swedish player Jonas Bjorkman, with a view to adding the doubles specialist to his coaching team.
