Suarez Navarro, Errani lose in 1st round in Cincinnati

MASON, Ohio (AP) (AP) - Two seeded women - Carla Suarez Navarro and Sara Errani - lost Tuesday in the first round of the Western & Southern Open.

Sloane Stephens routed the 10th-seeded Suarez Navarro 6-1, 6-2. Daria Gavrilova defeated the 16th-seeded Sara Errani 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.

Kristina Mladenovic advanced with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over wild card Daniela Hantuchova.

In the first round of men's play, 12th-seeded Richard Gasquet cruised past Nick Kyrgios 6-2, 6-1.
