Spain calls up Muguruza to face Italy in Fed Cup

MADRID (AP) Garbine Muguruza will lead Spain when it faces Italy in the Fed Cup playoffs.

The fourth-ranked Muguruza will play alongside Carla Suarez, Sara Sorribes and Anabel Medina Garrigues.

Spain captain Conchita Martinez says Spain's goal was ''to recover one of the eight places in the World Group, and we're ready for it.''

The April 16-17 series will be played on clay at the Lleida Tennis Club.
