Soderling runs 2011 winning streak to 8 matches

Fourth-seeded Robin Soderling ran his 2011 winning streak to eight matches with a 6-3, 6-1, 6-4 win over Jan Hernych in a third-round match at the Australian Open on Saturday.

Soderling started the year by winning the Brisbane International, beating Andy Roddick in the final, without dropping a set as top seed. It was his seventh career title and his first in Australia.

Play was delayed Saturday for about 10 minutes in the fourth game of the third set at Hisense Arena when the court again appeared to have a ''bubble'' in which a small portion of the surface gave way. A similar bubble cause another match to start late the previous day.

Soderling has reached the quarterfinals or better at every Grand Slam event except the Australian Open.
