Halep finished the season with a singles record of 45-18 to go along with her 3 WTA titles. On her career, she now has 14 WTA singles titles.
Despite some poor performances on the Grand Slam circuit, Simona Halep finished the year with the world No. 4 ranking. At the season-ending WTA Finals in Singapore, the Romanian tennis player did earn a victory over American Madison Keys in the early round robin. She would go on to lose to world No. 1 Angelique Kerber and eventual upset champion at the WTA Finals Dominika Cibulkova.
