Samir in Bahrain tennis semis

LAHORE, Oct. 10 -- Pakistan's promising tennis players, Samir crushed Germany Millen Ianakiev 6/2 6/3 to roar into the single semi final of ITF Bahrain open Junior World Ranking Tournament being held at Bahrain Tennis Club on Friday.

Samir went off to a perfect start and broke his opponents serve twice in the first set to shatter German player confidence whom he also teased with powerful ground return of serves and passing shots. Samir won the set in style with some lovely passing shots, said the information made available here.

The German showed some resistance in the 2nd set and held serves till 3/4 when he was broken with beautiful down the line passing by young Samir at 30/40 to lead 5/3 and served out for the match set and the match.

He will meet Amirvala Madachi of Iran who had earlier upset number 3 seed Reda from Kuwait.

"It is a good feeling to be in the semi finals and I am really pleased with my form and I am confident to maintain the flow of my present form to do better in next match,".

On a question regarding his chances against the Iranian opponent in the semi finals Samir said "It is not going to be easy at all, obviously he will be a tough opponent but I am fully prepared to take on another challenge in a confident manner," he said adding "What is most important to show consistency and to play positive tennis."
