Sam Querrey of the United States lost to Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia 7-6 (2), 6-4, 6-4 in the second round of the French Open on Thursday.

The 24th-seeded Querrey, who is from California and lives in Las Vegas, arrived at Roland Garros this year with an 0-4 record in the Grand Slam tournament, but won his first-round match against Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Ljubicic, a French Open semifinalist in 2006, hit four of his 11 aces in the first-set tiebreaker.

Querrey's loss leaves No. 10 Mardy Fish as the last U.S. man still in the tournament.
