Former No. 1 Thomas Muster has lost 6-3, 6-0 to 364th-ranked Gianluca Naso in the first round of the Sicily Classic, dropping to 1-6 since returning to professional tennis' challenger circuit.

The 43-year-old Muster has been offered a wild card by organizers of the Bank Austria Tennis Trophy in Vienna from Oct. 23 to 31. Muster is considering whether to accept the invitation. If so, he would play his first ATP tour match since June 1999.

Muster was given a wild card to enter the Sicily Classic but put up little resistance Monday after dropping the opening set to Naso, who is 20 years his junior.

Naso also beat Muster at a challenger event in the northern Italian town of Como recently.
