Murray to keep Corretja as coach to start 2011

Published Dec. 21, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

Andy Murray will be staying with coach Alex Corretja for the first half of 2011.

Corretja took the temporary coaching job after Murray split with Miles Maclagan in July. Murray said on his website Monday the coaching arrangement with Alex Corretja and Dani Vallverdu will ''continue into the first half of next year.'' Vallverdu is Murray's friend and occasional doubles partner.

Corretja was twice a French Open finalist and was once ranked No. 2. He became Murray's part-time coach in 2008, helping the Scotsman for the clay-court season that year.

Murray is ranked No. 4 and says he will not be rushed into appointing a permanent coach.
