Hewitt advances when Baghdatis retires with injury

Former No. 1-ranked Lleyton Hewitt has advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open when Marcos Baghdatis was forced to retire with a right shoulder injury with Hewitt leading 6-0, 4-2.

The last time the pair met here - in 2008 - they started just before midnight and Hewitt won a third-round encounter that finished at 4:34 a.m.

Hewitt plays top-ranked Roger Federer in the fourth round.
