WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) Samantha Crawford of Tamarac, Florida, has earned a main-draw Australian Open wild-card berth from the U.S. Tennis Association.

The USTA announced Monday that Crawford clinched the spot in the first Grand Slam tournament of 2016 by winning a lower-level event in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is the 20-year-old's first professional singles title.
