Dominika Cibulkova wins her 7th title and qualifies for the WTA Finals for the first time in her career.

Having a strong 2016 season, Cibulkova defeated Viktorija Golubic 6-3 7-5 to claim her 7th career WTA title. The win also qualifies Cibulkova for her first career WTA Finals. She goes into the play at Singapore with plenty of momentum.

I can’t describe with words what qualifying for the WTA Finals Singapore means to me. After such a tough year last year, this year has been amazing – so reaching the WTA Finals is a dream come true.

It was my goal to be a consistently great player and I have achieved that this year. I want to enjoy it, play good tennis and end the year the best way I can.

The 27 year old Cibulkova won 3 titles in 2016.

Several women’s tennis players qualified for the finals this weekend. Other highlights included American Madison Keys, who also qualifies for her debut WTA Finals.

I couldn’t be more excited to qualify for my first WTA Finals.

I’ve worked harder than ever this year both on and off the court and I am happy that the hard work is paying off. I look forward to finishing my season strong in Singapore.

The two young stars in women’s tennis will compete with a tough 2016 field at the WTA Finals. Women’s tennis world number 1 Angelique Kerber will be the odds on favorite at Singapore but the path to victory will not be easy.
