MUNICH (AP) Dominic Thiem of Austria surpassed Novak Djokovic for most wins on tour this year as he reached the BMW Open final by defeating Alexander Zverev of Germany 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 on Saturday.

Thiem's 29th ATP singles win gives him a chance on Sunday to add to titles he won in February in Buenos Aires and Acapulco.

He converted five of his 11 break opportunities, lost his own serve three times, but finished off Zverev in two hours with his sixth ace.

In the clay-court final he will play either two-time champion Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany or Fabio Fognini of Italy.
