SYDNEY (AP) Australia will host Slovakia at Sydney Olympic Park in a World Group playoff next month, the first time in five years that Davis Cup tennis will be played in the city.

Tennis Australia said Wednesday that the Sept. 16-18 matches will be played on a temporary grass court laid over the hardcourt surface at Ken Rosewall Arena.

The winner will advance to next year's elite World Group.

Australia will be led by new captain Lleyton Hewitt and likely have Nick Kyrgios and Bernard Tomic on its team.

Davis Cup was last played in Sydney in September 2011 at Royal Sydney Golf Club when Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka, who beat Hewitt in five sets, won reverse singles matches to give Switzerland a 3-2 victory in a World Group playoff.
