Cornet drops out, Radwanska advances at Katowice Open

First-seeeded Agnieszka Radwanska continued her winning streak at the Katowice Open by advancing to the semifinals following a 6-1, 6-1 win against Klara Koukalova of the Czech Republic.

Meanwhile, second-seeded Alize Cornet, last year's winner, dropped out of the completion after being defeated by eighth-seeded Anna Schmiedlova, 6-2-6-0.

In other matches, third-seeded Camila Giorgi of Italy defeated Russian Elizaveta Kulichkova, 6-3, 6-4, while Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck beat her compatriot and the seventh-seeded Kirsten Flipkens, 6-2, 6-4.

Saturday's semifinals will see Radwanska taking on Giorgi while Schmiedlova faces Van Uytvanck.
