Russian players at the Australian Open are sending condolences over the suicide bombing at their country's largest airport. The blast killed 35 people and left 180 wounded.

Two-time Grand Slam winner Svetlana Kuznetsova was born in St. Petersburg. She tweeted that she is ''in shock'' and has ''no words to say what I feel.'' She called the bombing ''a pathetic thing.''

No person or group claimed responsibility for Monday's attack. Islamic militants in the southern Russian region of Chechnya have been blamed for previous deadly attacks in Moscow.

Vera Zvonareva is ranked No. 2 and is from Moscow. When news of the attack broke in Australia on Tuesday, she tweeted her ''condolences and support to everyone back home in Moscow.''
