Zlatan-inspired Sweden beats Scotland
A Zlatan Ibrahimovic-inspired Sweden beat Scotland 3-0 in an international friendly on Wednesday.
Ibrahimovic took less than four minutes to open the scoring in his first match for the national team since returning from a self-imposed break from international football.
Some neat passing along Sweden's right ended with Pontus Wernbloom crossing for Ibrahimovic, who steered the ball in from seven yards.
Emir Bajrami scored Sweden's second in the 39th minute, volleying in after Allan McGregor in Scotland's goal had saved his first effort. Ola Toivonen added a third after 56 minutes.
Ibrahimovic was substituted after an hour to a huge ovation from the home fans, who were treated to a display of fast movement and incisive passing from Erik Hamren's team.
Ibrahimovic's future at his club team Barcelona has been the subject of speculation this summer, while his return to the international team has been the focus of plenty of attention in Sweden.
But the striker, playing in a free role, did not seem affected and produced a committed, creative performance.
Sweden starts its European Championship 2012 qualifying campaign at home to Hungary on Sept. 3., while Scotland travels to Lithuania.
