CAGLIARI, Sardinia --
Zdenek Zeman has heralded a new era for Cagliari as he was presented as the Serie A club's new coach.
The arrival of 67-year-old Zeman, who has coached a wide array of Italian clubs, and that of new president Tommaso Giulini has sparked excitement in fans for the upcoming season after decades of mediocrity.

On Wednesday, Zeman says ''there is a new owner, there's enthusiasm: it's a good choice for me. It's a club which has been in Serie A for so long but so many things have changed now. We will try to build a squad which can entertain.''
Zeman was sacked from his last managerial position at Roma after a defeat to Cagliari in February, 2013.
