Zaragoza move for Da Silva

The 30-year-old Paraguay international is understood to have travelled to Spain to discuss a move after struggling to force his way into Steve Bruce's plans on Wearside. Da Silva, who has also attracted interest from Mexican side Cruz Azul, has made only one Premier League appearance this season, starting the 1-0 defeat at West Brom on August 21. He arrived in England from another Mexican club, Toluca, in July 2009 and made 21 appearances in his first season. Manager Steve Bruce admitted that he had probably thrown the player in too early on the basis of his experience working with South American imports in the past. But with the club having invested heavily in the likes of Michael Turner and Titus Bramble, as well as loan signing Nedum Onuoha, his chances have been limited. Da Silva was a key figure in Paraguay's march to the World Cup quarter-finals in South Africa last summer, but it has been clear for some time that his future lies away from the Stadium of Light.
