Terry Brown admits some of AFC Wimbledon's fringe players have given him a selection dilemma for Saturday's trip to Northampton.

Venezuelan goalkeeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz impressed on his debut in Tuesday's 2-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Southend along with youngsters Huw Johnson and Frankie Merrifield, who scored the Dons' goal.

"I thought our goalkeeper had an exceptional game," said Brown.

"He looked safe with his handling and his distribution was magnificent. I couldn't fault him, he has been beaten by a penalty and a goal that he never had a chance with. His talking to the defenders was good too and I was very pleased with him.

"The youngsters grew into the game, in particular Frankie and Huw did really well for us. They won their battles, which we told them that they would have to do, but they kept possession and drove forward.

"It was a smashing goal which Frankie scored. They have given me a great selection dilemma for the weekend. I will have a good look at the DVD and will check on how they feel as it was the first real 90 minutes for them in the first team."
