Xerez's club president Carlos de Osma has resigned a day after the team's 2-0 loss to Barcelona left it rooted to the bottom of the Spanish league.
With one win from 13 games, Xerez has been in the relegation zone most of the season.
De Osma told reporters that "I want to say goodbye to you all. This is my last appearance as president of Xerez." He added that "now I am just another fan."
This is Xerez's first season in the top tier in its 62-year history.
