Police say a worker was killed when he fell from the roof of a stadium in Warsaw under construction for the 2012 European Championship.

Spokeswoman Dorota Tietz says the 20-year-old man fell nearly 100 feet on Monday and died on the spot at the construction site of National Stadium, which will host the opening game of Euro 2012.

Tietz had no more details as police and prosecutors were investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Last year, two workers were killed at the site when a crane lift fell from 50 feet.
