Wolves turn down Doyle bid
Wolves have confirmed that they turned down deadline-day bids for "a number of key players" including Kevin Doyle.
The striker had been strongly linked with a loan move to runaway SPL leaders Celtic, and the Midlands club revealed they had received a bid for Doyle shortly before the transfer window closed.
Wolves boss Dean Saunders also failed in his attempts to strengthen his squad, and he will now have to wait until the emergency loan window re-opens next week.
A statement on the Wolves website read: "Wolves can confirm that an offer was received for striker Kevin Doyle shortly before the closure of the transfer window on Thursday evening.
"This bid was rejected, as were a number of others for key players during January.
"The club also made offers to bring players in during the transfer window but unfortunately these bids were not successful.
"This is not the final chance to sign players this season, and Wolves will continue to assess all options ahead of the emergency loan window re-opening next week."
