The Seasiders have fared impressively so far in their maiden Premier League campaign and currently lie 13th in the table after taking 19 points from their opening 15 games. Their squad was bolstered by a clutch of signings in August but Holloway does not envisage many more new faces arriving at Bloomfield Road until next summer. The 47-year-old thinks most of the January market will be out of the Tangerines' price range and he believes it would be better if managers were allowed to continue recruiting whenever they saw fit over the course of a season. "It will come and it will go like every other month," Holloway said. "I think it's a waste of time. I think we should be able to duck and dive and wheel and deal throughout the whole season. "The rules are ridiculous and I have been saying it ever since I stepped up to this level. We are governed by people who don't understand what it is like on the shop floor." Asked if he thought he might find himself spending more time than usual indoors taking phone calls after Christmas, Holloway said: "No, I'll be out as much as I've always been. "I'll be busier next summer than I will be in January, without a shadow of a doubt. "I won't be able to afford the people who will be being bought and sold in January, so we know where we are going and what we are looking at. "We might get some free transfers. If there is one or two that I fancy - and I have already spoken to my chairman about one or two - if any of those deals come off and they are good for the club, I trust the chairman to do it and then we will do it. "But I'd rather look after who I've got and keep working with them." Freezing conditions meant Blackpool's scheduled game last weekend at home against Manchester United was postponed and Holloway admitted his frustration at having to play catch-up with the fixtures. "What can you do when the weather is like that and the ref makes his mind up the day before?" Holloway said. "Unfortunately, come Saturday morning it was probably playable. But such is life. I had a cunning plan and it is no longer that cunning, we'll have to start again. "I just don't like having games in hand. We had it last year and now we have it this year, but never mind." The weather has also had an impact on training, with Holloway forced to hold a session on the beach on Thursday as the players try to prepare for Saturday's trip to Stoke. Asked if the squad had been able to use their time productively following the postponement of the United match, Holloway said: "Not at all, no. "We were on the beach this morning, it's the only place we can train. Without an indoor pitch available, we were snookered, but we've gone on the beach to keep the lads going. "We've had a good week but it has not really been beneficial, not exactly what we want - we have just kept them ticking over and I'd rather just get on the grass. "This weather is really disruptive, but they had a good laugh this morning and enjoyed themselves."
