Wilson has established himself as a regular in the Pompey back-line this season following a string of high-profile departures, the last of which proved to be Younes Kaboul's move to Tottenham Hotspur before the close of the transfer window. The 22-year-old has partnered Tal Ben Haim at the heart of the defence of late and has now been rewarded with fresh terms on the South Coast. The versatile stopper had a further year remaining on his previous deal, but will now be tied to Portsmouth until 2013. He has made a total of 29 appearances for the club, the bulk of which have been this season and he is likely to continue to feature regularly for the remainder of the club's fight against relegation. Wilson enjoyed two loan spells at Bournemouth before making his Pompey debut against Chelsea in the Carling Cup last season. The youngster went on to feature in the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Cup last term and has made 22 appearances during the current campaign.
