Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has had a fresh injury setback, sustaining another stress fracture in his right ankle.

The England midfielder has not played for his Premier League club this season after injuring the same ankle on international duty in June.

Wilshere, who needed surgery after initially wearing a protective boot, was set to return in early February, but felt pain when running in training last week.

While healing well from the original injury, the latest stress fracture will not be reviewed by a specialist for two weeks.

Wilshere could still make England's squad for the European Championship.
