Blues assistant boss Wilkins defended Terry's inclusion at Turf Moor on and hailed the England skipper as "a fantastic professional". Wilkins told ESPN: "John has got his football head on. He is a fantastic professional as far as the footballing side of his life is concerned. He has done so wonderfully well for us and he will play today with no problem whatsoever." Asked whether the allegations about Terry's private life had affected the team's preparations for this evening's game, Wilkins added: "We've prepared in the best possible fashion. We realise that this game is extremely important for us."
