Wigan and Stoke shared four first-half goals involving three deflections to finish 2-2 in the Premier League on Saturday.

Robert Huth scored for Stoke with a weak 20-yard free kick in the 18th-minute that deflected in off Mohamed Diame in the wall.

Wigan enjoyed its own luck in the 30th as Stoke's Danny Collins scored an own-goal by diverting Ben Watson's free kick past Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic at the DW Stadium.

Just a minute later Matthew Etherington put Stoke back in front after Kenwyne Jones broke down the right and played in Ricardo Fuller on the right of the area. The striker did well to pull the ball back and Etherington had the simple task of slotting his shot under Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi.

Wigan should have scored after Charles N'Zogbia set up Hendry Thomas, who shot wide from five yards.

Tom Cleverley equalized for Wigan in the 40th after cutting in from the right and shooting from 20 yards, with the ball taking a key touch off Rory Delap and ending in the corner of the net.

Stoke had a couple of late chances with Danny Higginbotham heading wide and substitute Tuncay Sanli looping a header from Etherington's cross into the arms of Al Habsi.

Stoke has 21 points while Wigan, which has won only once in the last nine league games, is in the relegation zone with 15 points. Both teams have played 16 matches.
