Wigan won its first home match in the Premier League this season, beating West Ham 2-1 on Saturday after goals from Ivan Ramis and James McArthur.
Ramis scored in the eighth minute and McArthur found the net in the 47th at the DW Stadium as Wigan provisionally rose two places to 15th in the standings, four points above the relegation zone.
It was Wigan manager Roberto Martinez's first victory in seven league matches and only his second of the season.
James Tomkins scored a 90th-minute consolation goal for West Ham, which remains one point out of the top four ahead of the rest of the fixtures in the round.
