Ali Al Habsi, on loan from Bolton, is currently number one for Latics due to Chris Kirkland's long-standing injury problems - but the Trotters are unlikely to part with him on a permanent basis. That has led Latics boss Martinez to put Westwood on his radar, with a view to making a summer move for him. The 26-year-old has been arguably the best goalkeeper in the Championship this season and his performances have alerted several clubs, including Celtic and Everton. Westwood is due to run out of contract at the end of the season and Coventry had been hoping to sell him in January to get a fee for services. But the Sky Blues did not receive any offers so the Republic of Ireland international will be able to move on for free, with the DW Stadium his most likely destination if Martinez's men manage to avoid relegation.
