The Baggies have taken 16 points from their opening 14 games despite collecting just one point from the last five matches. It compares favourably to their other Premier League seasons - 12 points from 14 games in 2002/03 and 2005/06 and 10 and 11 points respectively at the same stage in 2004/05 and 2008/09. Di Matteo, whose side visit Everton this weekend, said: "Compared to two seasons ago, we are in a much better position now. "West Brom were then on 15 points after 19 games. We achieved that after nine games this season. I would have liked a few more points than we've got now but it's not a bad return." Di Matteo added: "We know we've had a little dip in the last month or so but there have been reasons. We've had a few suspensions and injuries and a few decisions have gone against us."
