Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he does not let his team visit the United States because the sort of tour embarked upon by the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham leaves players drained before the start of the Premier League season.
With the Premier League kickoff still two weeks away, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has already complained of a crowded schedule and fatigued players.
Spurs played three games in the United States this month and Wenger says "there's always pressure to tour somewhere like America."
Wenger says "the priority has to be how well the team prepares" for the competitive season.
This season's Premier League starts just 34 days after the World Cup final on July 11.
