Gianfranco Zola chose to focus on the positives despite watching his Watford side twice let the lead slip in a 2-2 home draw with Bristol City.
The Hornets had the bulk of the chances at Vicarage Road but had to wait until the 58th minute to take the lead when James Wilson turned a Marco Cassetti cross into his own net.
City were soon on terms through Marvin Elliott's header, only for Matej Vydra to fire the home side back in front with his fourth of the campaign.
However, Steven Davies equalised with seven minutes remaining to leave Zola facing questions about the frustration of letting a winning position slip twice.
He said: "If I focus myself only on that, yes, it's going to be very frustrating, but there's also a lot of good positive things I can take from this game.
"We created a lot, scored two goals. Yes, towards the end it was shaky, certainly not very healthy for the manager's heart, but I think a lot is down to the fact that many players are recovering from injuries so towards the end we got tired a little bit.
"But it's early days, we will improve that and once we do that it is going to be a very good team."
Zola also complimented the performance of Troy Deeney, who came on as a second-half substitute to make his first appearance since being released from prison following his conviction for affray.
"The first half was good but too slow and in the second half we increased the tempo and it was better," Zola added.
"To be honest when Troy came on, he had a big impact for us. The situation got better and better, so it's encouraging and I take a lot of positives.
"He [Deeney] is an important player, he's just the right player for this team. Today he showed very good things, obviously he will get better and better and better. We're just very happy to have him."
City's assistant manager Tony Docherty said: "I think we were slightly disappointing in the first half in terms of our retention of the ball and possession and creating chances, but we certainly picked it up in the second half.
"We showed great character to come back from a goal down on two occasions and eventually at the end we thought we could go and win it.
"So there's a little feeling of disappointment we couldn't win it but I think to take four points out of six at two tough venues, Peterborough and Watford, is a good return."
Asked if both sides felt they could have won it, Docherty added: "It was that type of game, particularly second half.
"We opened up a little bit, were a bit more expansive and created opportunities and we feel a little bit that we could have won the game.
"I'm sure Watford feel the same way but I'm sure the fans were entertained by the second half."
