Watch: Wayne Rooney's screamer in Manchester United's Europa League loss
Manchester United's struggles continued with a 2-1 loss to Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday, but the lone bright spot was provided by the much-maligned Wayne Rooney.
The club captain sent a 30-yard missile to the upper left-hand corner in defeat, slicing the Red Devils' deficit in half and providing hope for a miraculous draw. The match featured three beautiful goals, with Moussa Sow opening the scoring in the second minute with a sensational overhead kick, and Jermaine Lens doubling the advantage in the second half with a curling free kick.
Rooney scored his in the 89th minute, turning, taking a touch and swinging his right foot with power to send the ball on its way.

Manchester United, which has won just two of its last seven games in all competitions, will aim to get back to its winning ways this weekend against Bob Bradley's Swansea City.
United sits in eighth in the Premier League with 15 points through 10 matches, and it's in third through four group matches in the Europa League, a point behind both Fenerbahce and Feyenoord.
