After losing 4-1 at Manchester United last Saturday, Ward is backing his team to respond at Molineux over the next eight days. The left-back revealed Wolves have long targeted these two games as crucial in their battle to move up the Premier League table. "The next two games are at home where on the whole we've been really good this season," he told the Express and Star. "So we are looking to these matches to take four, if not six, points because we need to be aiming to take a maximum return. "We've always looked at these next two for points. It was pleasing that we put on a decent performance at United and didn't let ourselves down. We were better than the result showed. "But when we look at the fixture list, we know our Premier League safety isn't going to depend on how we get on at Old Trafford. "We're looking forward to these next two games because we really want to push on." Ward felt there were some positives to emerge at Old Trafford, not least the performances of goalscorer Steven Fletcher and recalled captain Roger Johnson. "Fletcher played well and Roger was outstanding - he really had the bit back between his teeth," Ward noted. "It was a spirited performance and which we can take a lot of credit from." Ward was pleased with his partnership down the left with Matt Jarvis. "Myself and Jarvis did well down the left. We combined quite well - it's nice to play behind him all the time," he added. "I feel our understanding has grown every time we've played together."
