Collins and fellow defender Richard Dunne were disciplined by Villa last week following an incident during a team bonding session. The 27-year-old then missed troubled Villa's Premier League loss to Wolves on Saturday - which left the club just a point above the relegation zone - with a calf injury. Collins has now joined up with his Wales team-mates ahead of this Saturday's eagerly-anticipated Euro 2012 qualifier at the Millennium Stadium and, having proved his fitness, is hoping to earn selection as captain. "I don't really want to speak about that," said Collins when asked about the unspecified disciplinary action taken by Villa. "That is going on at the club and has all been sorted and forgotten about now, hopefully. "I've come away and am looking forward to a big game for Wales. "I trained for four or five days up at Villa, and then came down and trained again this morning. The calf is great and ready to go. "We have been training for a couple of days now and there is a buzz about the place. Everyone is really looking forward to it." Collins is one of the leading contenders for the captain's job having worn the armband for last month's defeat against the Republic of Ireland. New manager Gary Speed is set to name a permanent successor to Craig Bellamy after the striker, who cannot play every game due to a long-term knee complaint, ruled himself out of the reckoning. Collins said: "The manager is keeping his cards close to his chest. "He is a great man-manager and the way he is going to do it is obviously the right way. "The boys are sitting tight and waiting to see. "I've done it a few times in the past and it's a massive honour for myself. "If the manager comes to me and I am captain I will be overjoyed. "Any time you are captain is an honour but at home in front of a full house with all my family there, and against England, would be something special."
