Swansea goalkeeper Michel Vorm has moved to play down rumours linking him with a move to Barcelona.

Rumours of a move to Barcelona gathered pace after Vorm spent last weekend in Barcelona with his family after being given extended time off by Swansea with the Welsh club not having a game in the Premier League at the weekend.

Vorm's future at Swansea has been the subject of speculation for some time with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool credited with an interest in the Dutchman.

Barcelona have also been linked with Vorm as they search for a replacement for Victor Valdes with the keeper set to leave Camp Nou after turning down a new deal at the club.

Vorm insists his trip to Barcelona was just a coincidence and he denied travelling there to sign a deal with the Spanish giants.

"So no, I was not in Barcelona to sign a deal," Vorm told Voetbal International.

"No one of that club contacted my agent Wessel Weezenberg."

Vorm does expect Barcelona to sign a new goalkeeper as expected Valdes does leave the club this summer.

"However I expect something will happen there for the goalkeeping position," added Vorm. "If Valdes will leave, Barcelona have to adapt."
