Venezuela President Hugo Chavez says the national team was ''robbed'' of a goal in the Copa America semifinal loss to Paraguay.

Chavez has posted a string of messages on Twitter while undergoing cancer treatment in Cuba. He says Venezuela should complain to the governing body of South American soccer.

One message says ''THEY ROBBED US OF THE VICTORY GOAL!'' Chavez also asks ''why the devil was that referee going to nullify such a spectacular goal?''

A goal by Oswaldo Vizcarrondo was disallowed in the first half of Wednesday's game after he was called offside. The game finished 0-0 and Paraguay won a penalty-kick shootout.
