Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will play in Spain again after signing a one-year deal with Malaga on Thursday.

The Spanish club says Van Nistelrooy passed his medical to seal a move from German club Hamburg, where his current deal was expiring.

The Netherlands international scored 12 goals in 36 Bundesliga appearances after joining from Real Madrid in January 2010.

Van Nistelrooy netted 60 goals from 89 appearances in a 3 1/2-year spell with Madrid, where he won two league titles and led the Spanish league in scoring once.
