Van der Vaart in new injury scare

BY foxsports • November 12, 2011

Tottenham face an anxious wait over the health of Rafael van der Vaart after he was injured during Holland's 0-0 draw with Switzerland.

Van der Vaart hurt his hamstring, not for the first time this season, and will definitely miss the prestigious friendly with Germany in midweek.

Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk said he had no idea of the severity of the problem but conceded he had no chance of featuring at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.

Van der Vaart has already spent two spells on the sidelines with injury this season, with his hamstring proving particularly fragile.

The former Real Madrid man has been in sparkling form for high-flying Spurs this season, scoring six goals in their run of seven wins in eight Premier League games.
