Veteran defender Daniel van Buyten has revealed that he is prepared to end his career at Bayern Munich, despite interest from Italian giants AC Milan.

Van Buyten recently penned a two-year extension to his current deal at the Allianz Arena after declining an offer to sign for the Rossoneri, but the Belgium international admitted that he was tempted by a move to Serie A.

The 32-year-old told L'Equipe: "I received two beautiful propositions, and one of them really made me hesitate. It came from AC Milan.

"The Milan officials told me to wait a little, but I didn't have a lot of time.

"With Bayern, there were some difficulties during negotiations as I let them know that a one-year contract was not exciting for me.

"Then I scored some goals and everything was sorted out quite quickly."

The imposing defender was coy over his future beyond his new deal, but admitted that he would consider ending his career with Bayern.

He added: "I will first play my two additional years. Then, why not extend my contract again?"
