Valencia's Aritz Aduriz will be sidelined for four weeks with an ankle sprain.
Team doctors say the Basque striker sprained his left ankle during Saturday's game against Sporting Gijon.
Aduriz is Valencia's top scorer with nine league goals this season.
He will likely miss the second leg of Valencia's round of 16 Champions League tie against Schalke on March 9.
